The Art of Pasta Making
Join us for this hands-on pasta-making workshop where MCSL Chef, Gerry Barbara, will show you how to hand-make traditional Italian pasta at home. Participants will gather their pasta dough, learn how to stretch the dough, & make different types of pasta incl ravioli, fettucine and potato gnocchi. Participants will sample their pasta with freshly made Napolitano sauce using ingredients from the MCSL gardens. Cost $75pp (incl class, recipes, morning tea)

Introduction to Bee Keeping
Learn the basics of beekeeping - the basics of colony management, the costs in setting up a hive, which plants bees prefer & the different variety of native bees local to NSW. Cost: $40pp
**All participants receive a 300gr jar of honey made at our Centre.

The Art of Fermenting
Learn how to make your own fermented vegetables at this hands-on workshop. Your presenters will take you through the theory & practice of different methods of fermenting seasonal produce. Participants will make one 2L jar of ferments to take home with the knowledge of how to make more & how to incorporate them into your daily diet.
Participants will also learn how to make Kombucha & will take home a starter SCOBY. There will also be a variety of fermented food & drinks to taste. Cost $150pp

Worm Farming and Composting
Learn how to turn food scraps and garden waste into soil conditioner and take home a worm farm OR compost bin.
Be part of the War on Waste! Learn how to set up and start your own organic recycling station at home by turning food scraps, house and yard waste into fantastic fertiliser and rich soil conditioner for your vegetable and ornamental gardens. Cost $120pp

Introduction to Soft Cheese Making
If you love cheese and want to learn how to make it at home, then come to this course! Learn the basics of home cheese making with MCSL Chef, Gerry Barbara. You’ll learn how to make ricotta, mascarpone, quark, lemon & cream cheese and labneh, and the many uses for leftover whey. There’ll also be a range of other delicious cheeses to try on the day. Participants will receive recipe sheets and a selection of cheeses to take home. Cost $95 (includes class, recipes & tea/coffee)

Guide to Indoor Gardening
Learn how to create our own indoor garden. In this workshop, you’ll learn what plants to grow, where to place them. how to care for them and the benefits of having air-purifying plants at home. You’ll also find out how to propagate plants, how to repot them, and how to prevent pests and diseases.
All participants will pot a plant to take home and will also receive additional cuttings for you to pot at home to get your indoor garden thriving. Cost: $45 pp

Natural Beauty Workshop
Learn how to make your own natural DIY skincare. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own beauty products using ingredients that most people have in their pantry and plants that you can grow in your backyard. Our presenter will cover hair conditioners, face and body scrubs, cleansers, toners and moisturisers and face masks. You’ll learn about the best natural ingredients to use on your skin type. All participants will take home 2 different hand-made beauty products. Cost: $65 pp

The Art of Preserving
In this hands-on workshop, learn the simple techniques used to make pickles, chutneys, jams & sauces & the fundamentals of sweet preserving from “setting point” to storage. Covers safe preserving basics & techniques bottling, sterilizing and storing products. You’ll also make your own preserve to take home. Suitable for anyone who wants to know how to make delicious home preserves. $100 pp (includes jars, fact sheets, preserving recipes & afternoon tea)
