The Art of Preserving
In this hands-on workshop, learn the simple techniques used to make pickles, chutneys, jams & sauces & the fundamentals of sweet preserving from “setting point” to storage. Covers safe preserving basics & techniques bottling, sterilizing and storing products. You’ll also make your own preserve to take home. Suitable for anyone who wants to know how to make delicious home preserves. $100 pp (includes jars, fact sheets, preserving recipes & afternoon tea)

Guide to Indoor Gardening
Learn how to create our own indoor garden. In this workshop, you’ll learn what plants to grow, where to place them. how to care for them and the benefits of having air-purifying plants at home.
You’ll also find out how to propagate plants, how to repot them, and how to prevent pests and diseases.
All participants will pot a plant to take home and will also receive additional cuttings for you to pot at home to get your indoor garden thriving. Cost: $45 pp

Desserts from around the World
Anyone who loves their sweets will love this workshop! There are so many different types of dessert styles from many cultures around the world. In this workshop, our Chef will tell you about the most iconic desserts from around the world. Then participants will prepare three delicious desserts to take home. You’ll also sample a number of other desserts with your afternoon tea. Get creative and learn new skills to master the art of making delicious desserts at home. Cost $75 pp (limit of 8 participants) (includes all ingredients, recipes, tea/coffee/snacks)

The Art of Fermenting
Learn how to make your own fermented vegetables at this hands-on workshop. Your presenters will take you through the theory & practice of different methods of fermenting seasonal produce. Participants will make one 2L jar of ferments to take home with the knowledge of how to make more & how to incorporate them into your daily diet. There will also be a variety of fermented food & drinks to sample. Cost $150pp

Pest Free Gardening
In this workshop you will learn strategies to create pest-free and healthy gardens without resorting to harmful chemicals. You’ll learn how to identify beneficial bugs and pest insects in your garden. Our expert gardener will teach you how to naturally control pests and all participants will make White Oil to take home to help naturally manage pests in their gardens. Costs $35pp (includes factsheets, DIY pest control recipes, morning tea)

Introduction to Soft Cheese Making
If you love cheese and want to learn how to make it at home, then come to this course! Learn the basics of home cheese making with MCSL Chef, Gerry Barbara. You’ll learn how to make ricotta, mascarpone, quark, lemon & cream cheese and labneh, and the many uses for leftover whey. Participants will make two soft cheeses to take home and there’ll also be a range of other delicious cheeses to try on the day. Participants will also take home samples of other cheeses made on the day. Cost $95 (includes class, recipes & tea/coffee)
